We had 104 sign up for dinner including both of our Archbishops. Rick and Ryan Wiseman and the Porter Funeral Home staff again provided a magnificent “George Gorman” steak dinner. The Porter Funeral Home also donated three Southwest Airline vouchers to be given to a priest, deacon, and seminarian attending the dinner. Fr. Scott Wallisch , Deacon Joel Huag, AVI and Deacon George Karnaze were the three winners. (George wasn't going to come, his wife urged him to, he came and, shouting with joy, won a ticket for a trip with his family.)
There were so many of our Serrans volunteered to help with the golf and dinner. Their only objective was to make it a great day for our guests. Jim Burns, Dan Eliason, Larry Pickert helped at the golf course. Gene Schreiner, George Riehle, and Bob Dougherty helped with the name tags, registration, and the checks for the seminarians. Will Miller and the bar staff did a great job providing liquid nourishments for our guests. Gary De Haemers took photos on the golf course and at the Dinner.
The evening concluded with a blessing from Archbishop Joseph Naumann and Archbishop Emeritus James Keleher.
Mark your calendars for May 30, 2019 for next year's event. It was a great day!!!
The pictures in the slide show below need no captions to indicate the camaraderie, joy, happiness shown among our clergy, deacon, deacon aspirants, seminarians and serrans, as one has said, "A glimpse into the communion communion of saints". the same idea is expressed in the gallery of photographs showing only close-ups of individuals at the Gorman dinner.
