This Blisters for Sisters was again sponsored by the Serra Clubs of eastern Kansas and western Missouri which lay astride the Missouri river, another example of the power and reach of vocation events when Serra Clubs are able to work together.

Sister Magdalena of the Franciscan Sisters of the Poor (supported by Serra KCK) recently wrote us this note describing their work among the drug addicts and poor in Sao Paulo, Brazil. A French journalist witnessed their ministry and a Mass that was held in streets where many drug addicts lay sick or dying. He described the scene as "A Mass in Hell".
Sister Magdalena writes: "Here is the article that was published in France when the Bishop of Toulon, France, visited the Fraternity in Brazil. (we have a Sisters house in Toulon). He took a journalist with him who wrote this story about our street ministry in the center of Sao Paulo. I translated it to English."

A spiritual awakening in Ephesus
"Feelings of a Spiritual Awakening started to grow in me. We took the modern highway north, passing the rooms of the Basilica of John, the modern mosque made partially out of the stones of the Basilica, and the ruins of the Temple of Diana. Three great religions in one Valley."

One of the purposes of the Serra Club's monthly meetings is to increase our knowledge and love of the Faith, thus equipping us with more competence and confidence as we carry out our Serran mission. The USAC prepared a manual to guide us as we work toward that goal.
