This year again Gene Schreiner and his committee so beautifully organized RSAD 2018 that everything ran smoothly and seemingly effortless that it belied the hours or planning Gene and the committee spent over several months. The pastor and staff of St. Patrick could not have been more accommodating. In site of overcrowded agendas on August 12 Archbishop Naumann and Bishop Johnston were able to attend.
Here are the statistics provided by Jim Burns
- Religious Sisters—201
- Money raised for Sisters vocation activities—final figure not yet available
All these contributed to the success of RSAD 2018: the smooth parking, the bingo, the attention given to the Sisters by Serrans wives, guests and student volunteers in welcoming the Sisters and serving them assiduously, the wonderful Jack Stack BBQ, the remarks of Serran President Tom Spencer and the remarks of gratitude and affection by Archbishop Naumann and Bishop Johnston.
Then, the music and singing led by the Sisters, the heartfelt thanks and blessing the Sisters gave to the Serrans, wives and guests and the final, always moving, Salve Regina sung by all.
Who would not be moved by this foretaste of Heaven?
