You will see the joy there is in serving the Church in this slide show!
Not even blowing snow could discourage friends and supporters of the Sisters, Servants of Mary from coming to the Spaghetti Dinner on Feb. 4th . Pictures of the dinner are in the slideshow below.
Most of the people in the pictures are members of the group preparing and serving the meal. It all started about 1990 according to Mary Sullivan(whose mother was an Amino) when three families, the Aminos, Balanos, and Paces organized the first dinner. For several years it was held
at St. Peters parish in KCK. As crowds grew it was moved to its present location. In recent years between 1500 and 2000 meals were served, many take-out. Most all of the original family members have passed, and the second generation of those founders are continuing the tradition.
All of the proceeds are donated to the Sisters, totaling $20-25000 per year. Thanks to all of you for your support. You are in the Sister’s prayers. It can be truly said it is an Italian dinner prepared by Italians.
See you next year!
